ALI GRADISCHER is a freelance photographer, artist, and photography educator based in Portland, OR. Using film as a foundational and joyful element in her practice, Ali is all about deliberately slowing down the fast moments in life with cameras (oftentimes) older than she is. With a mixture of documentary and fine-art photographic styles, she creates classic, energetic, and visually honest work ranging from travel, sports, and lifestyle photography.

Outside of the photo studio, Ali has traveled nationally and internationally for artist residencies, including Iceland and Germany, to create work based on the different seasons of her life through photography, drawing, and printmaking. She has previously received fellowships and grants from Portland’s Regional Arts and Culture Council, the Oregon Arts Commission, Mercy Corps Northwest, and the Pacific Northwest College of Art.

Born and raised in the Nutmeg State, Ali moved out to Portland in 2009 and received her MFA in Applied Craft + Design from the Pacific Northwest College of Art and the Oregon College of Art and Craft in 2011. Prior to her move to the west coast, she was a Division I student-athlete (field hockey) and received her BS in Interior Design from Appalachian State University in 2008.
